I’m turning 20. In some cultures that’s a big deal in other’s not so much. In my own mind I could careless what age I am.
Society doesn’t seem to want to let go of it. At least these days. Why can’t it be like the old days when kids would be reading Plutarch Lives at the age of nine.
Not today, today they read “See sam run run sam run!”. I hated that book. It made me feel like a mental patient as did most cartoons That’s why I stuck to reading Sherlock Holmes and watched National Geographic and Discovery Channel. Sometimes older people would encourage me to be more my age and just “be stupid”. Which I thought was absurd.
At the age of around eleven I took my life serious and began working on my future. I jumped into drama class and on the side read everything there was about movie making and the entertainment industry. I wasn’t satisfied with the education school was giving me, so I my parents took me out and I began to teach myself. Which was wonderful. I could work as long as I wanted on a certain subject. I personally liked mathematics, philosophy and writing.
When I was fifteen I decided what I passionately wanted to pursue as a career, making movies. So I began as a event videographer shooting everything from concerts to fashion shows. It was hard at first getting used to the seemingly endless amounts of work but then I just fell in love with it. I can’t stop now, now I happily work till five in the morning because I freakin’ love it! It’s like I found that one thing that just completes me.
We all die. At any age. So my goal is to at least create a few more episodes of Alexis and make just a few more people laugh, cry and think before I bid my final adieu to this strange little world.
Now who wants some cake?
In other news. Alexis’s first music video is 65% complete. Woot for me.
